Kaywood Dobermans began in 1971 and
over the years of breeding and showing, Quality and Soundness
have always been first concern!
Looks are the first criteria
in our selection of what is to be placed in our breeding program
followed by a second criteria which that same individual must
meet in order to stay in the program, that being Soundness!
Soundness is divided into two parts (1) Structure and (2)
Health.
Structure, we are always striving for balance and sturdiness,
and breeding as closely as we can to the breed standard. Health,
we are seeking to breed dogs with normal Thyroid gland function,
VWD (Bleeding disorder) Clear or Free, Sound Hips and all
parents x-rayed and Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA)
certified sound.
