About Kaywood Dobermans

Kaywood Dobermans began in 1971 and over the years of breeding and showing, Quality and Soundness have always been first concern!

Looks are the first criteria in our selection of what is to be placed in our breeding program followed by a second criteria which that same individual must meet in order to stay in the program, that being Soundness! Soundness is divided into two parts (1) Structure and (2) Health.

Structure, we are always striving for balance and sturdiness, and breeding as closely as we can to the breed standard. Health, we are seeking to breed dogs with normal Thyroid gland function, VWD (Bleeding disorder) Clear or Free, Sound Hips and all parents x-rayed and Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) certified sound.

"Sting" - CH Kaywood's The Guided Missile landed a phenomenal achievement on Labor Day 2008 at the Mid-Kentucky KC Show in Lexington, KY. At just 9.5 months of age he went Best of Breed over 3 Champions (2 of which were All Breed Best In Show winners and one of them was the Number 1 Doberman Pinscher in the USA of All Systems - Number 2 Working Dog and ranked Number 12 among All Breeds.)

This historic and incredible accomplishment was awarded to him by respected judge Ms. Judith Ann Smith.

Sting Finished on the Tough Wisconsin Cluster with a 5 point Major under Judge Mr. Bradford C. Dunn.

"Strike" - CH Kaywood's Clear Nite Mission turned a lot of heads in his short career to championship of 2.5 months of showing , completing his championship with 2 back to back 5 point major wins at 6 months and one week of age along with a 3 point finishing major win at 8 months of age!
